Virtual Stage Model

I build a digital model of the stage, accounting for its architecture, available equipment, and proposed lighting design.
Lighting Score

I develop the cue sheet and sequence of lighting states for every scene and key dramatic moment.
Visual Language

I define how color, shadow, contrast, and moving light shape the production. I prepare lighting content, a technical rider, and plots for stage and front-of-house positions.
Lighting Storyboard

I visualize the key lighting compositions and how they evolve before work begins onstage.
Programming

Working with the lighting programmer, I build the lighting states and transitions.
Installation

I coordinate equipment installation and work with the crew to realize the design.
Lighting Rehearsals

With performers in costume and without music, I check focus, transitions, and how the light interacts with the cast.
Timing & Rhythm

During rehearsals with music, I refine pacing, fade times, and synchronization with the action.
Opening & Performance Support

I guide the lighting through final rehearsals and opening, refine the cues, and oversee the design’s consistency after the premiere.
Photography & Video

I adapt the lighting for performance recordings, trailers, and promotional photography and video.
Production Documentation

I hand over the documentation and digital assets needed to reproduce the design for future performances.
Touring Adaptation

I adapt the lighting design to each venue’s equipment and technical resources.

EXPERIENCE

From intimate stages to major productions.
More than 25 years of lighting work across theater, ballet, opera, and cultural events in Russia, Europe, Israel, and the UAE.

Selected projects include Catharsis Dante, The Land of Faith, Grand Pas, Kings of the Sun, the Mikael Tariverdiev concert at the State Kremlin Palace, and the Trans-Baikal International Film Festival.

LIGHT AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

A single beam can change the meaning of a scene.
Direction, intensity, and color reshape our perception of space: reality becomes a dream, intimacy becomes distance, a gesture becomes an event.
I build the lighting around the drama within a scene—a character’s emotional state, rising tension, a moment of change.
My starting point is a question: “What should the audience feel?”
